The press is still covering Obama’s ass.  

O’s incompetent appointees are still lost in the past.  It’s not about racism when the POTUS is an African-American, Sherlock!   We just had the biggest single discussion on race in the history of the universe — it was the 2008 Presidential election.  Let’s move on — today, in our present day, it’s about Democrat-stoked emboldened enemies and the Democrat-induced evaporation of middle Americans’ wealth.

Putin is puttin’ it to us, thanks so much for your image of strength, oh Great ONE.   We discussed this problem before.  

 Obama’s Eeyore-mouth, his incompetent appointees, and Congress are still killing our nation’s economy – it sinks a little farther every time they open their mouths — and the rest of the world is succumbing, too. 

 In spite of the Oldstream Media hate-fest on him,  Bush was a better leader and a better man than the ONE. 

 Obama has another speech tonight, but I will not be commenting on it.

He’s evil, but the man knows socialism inside out.  He grew up under it and lived through its downfall.  He understands the psychology of it.  He was head of the KGB, for heaven’s sake.  Putin scolds Obama and the Dems:

Excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence is another possible mistake.

True, the state’s increased role in times of crisis is a natural reaction to market setbacks. Instead of streamlining market mechanisms, some are tempted to expand state economic intervention to the greatest possible extent.

The concentration of surplus assets in the hands of the state is a negative aspect of anti-crisis measures in virtually every nation.

In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.

Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state.

And one more point: anti-crisis measures should not escalate into financial populism and a refusal to implement responsible macroeconomic policies. The unjustified swelling of the budgetary deficit and the accumulation of public debts are just as destructive as adventurous stock-jobbing.

Read the whole thing.  Everything the man says NOT to do is what the idiots in Washington DC are doing.  The freakin’ former head of the KGB is the good guy here …. unbelievable.

Sh’ya, ya got that right, O Cluelesss Leader.  A big ole’ shout-out to my blogroll for helping me assemble this mess.  Please patronize them.

In the first few minutes, O talks at length about the woes of Elkhart, IN.  Sad indeed.  But what he fails to tell you is that the primary industry — aka job maker – in Elkhart is recreational vehicles.  Motor homes.  RVs.  Probably the second industry is manufactured housing.  Both of these industries are languishing worldwide; Elkhart is getting a double whammy by misfortune.  But stay with me here and let’s think this through.  Leftists want us to forswear fossil fuel use.  They refuse to allow America to do work toward energy independence by developing more of the natural resources we have — especially oil.  Using logic and following the consequences of this attitude, that would mean …. anyone have a guess? …. leftists want us to have no more recreational vehicles!  In addition, the RV industry has always been cyclical — after all, RVs are a luxury item, not a necessity — so to expect constant, unending growth in this industry is just plain stupid.   Leftists also caused the implosion of the home mortgage business by their foolish, dare I say malicious, insistence on moving the home mortgage business into the government’s hands.  So all these woes of Elkhart, IN were either unfortunate though predictable cycles of business or caused by Obama and his comrades themselves.  This man is exploiting Elkhart’s suffering for his own political gain.  If I lived in Elkhart, I would want to show up at his photo op there just to throw rotten tomatoes, but of course I would never really do that — stand down, Agents. 

And I found this really stomach-churning — at about the 38:15 mark, O talks about how sobered he feels when he signs letters to the families of troops killed in Afghanistan/Iraq.  What a compassionate man!  Know this — President Bush didn’t just sign letters, he met personally with every family of every single fallen service member — except those who declined his invitations.  He brought them to the White House and had private meetings with them.  This is compassion, my friends, not just signing letters, gag me with a spoon.  All O has is typical liberal “mere words.”

And WTF with that baseball question?  Do O and the press really believe this is a topic important enough for the President of the United States and Leader of the Free World to address in his first press conference in that role?  These people have no dignity.

I could fisk the entire piece of doo-doo, but frankly, I don’t have the stomach for it.  You can find some of that here and here and here.

And to rub salt in your seeping wounds, know that Obama pre-selected the questions and questioners for this press conference.  This was in no way a “free press” moment.  It was carefully scripted.  Openness and transparency, ya know.

Larry Elder has a few questions that didn’t make it on the approved list:

Mr. President, tonight you criticized those who argue that FDR’s policies failed. I’d like to read a passage from the diary of Henry Morgenthau, FDR’s Treasury secretary: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises.  I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started and an enormous debt to boot!” Please comment.

Obama is moving responsibility for the 2010 census from the Commerce Dept. into his personal staff.  You can’t make this kind of crap up. 

When the Census was administered by the Department of Commerce, there was a measure of accountability that made partisan control of the process difficult. But by placing control of the Census directly in the hands of Obama’s Democrat White House operatives, there will be no doubt as to the ultimate goal of the census takers.

  According to House Minority leader John Boehner: 

“The United States Census should remain independent of politics; it should not be directed by political operatives working out of the White House.”

Darn tootin’.  Political operatives is a good phrase.  They’ll be operatin’ all right.

But I do remember this — wage and price controls.  Inflation was out of control, and President Nixon, he of sainted –oops, sorry for the typo, I meant to say stained — reputation, decided it had to be stopped by force.  Hence the wage and price controls established by the federal government.  As anyone who is able to think things through can tell you, it was a disaster.  The government interventions actually made inflation even worse than the “intolerable” rates that preceded wage and price controls.  Just as many economists now acknowledge that government interventions prolonged and deepened the Great Depression.

Now Obama is following in St. Nixon’s footsteps, PBUH, and is instituting wage caps, and I’m gettin’ that deja-vu-all-over-again feeling.  He calls it “executive compensation caps,” but it’s the same thing.  Now your vocabulary has been expanded, doncha feel better?  But I digress.

To be fair, O is starting only with companies that receive money from the federal Porkulus Plan.  We’ll call it PP from here on, and no it doesn’t stand for Piss Poor, shame on you for your crude mind.  You have probably heard of the legendary Slippery Slope.  It’s part of the geography of any liberal enclave.  And O’s pay caps are located right on the edge of it.

Once those highly-paid executives are brought into line, the rest of us won’t be far behind.  Remember the cautionary tale that goes “They came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew ….”  Certainly money is not equivalent to life, but I hope you can see the ominous parallel.

Now, one populist part of me likes the idea of executives exercising moderation in their pay.  Nobody should be a greedy b*****d, after all.  And why shouldn’t the government expect a certain level of accountability from those it is entrusting with my money — that just makes sense.  But that’s my heart speaking. 

My head, on the other hand, it outraged.  I remember the 70′s and into the early 80′s.  The problem with government “accountability” is that government is accountable to no one.  Yah, yah, we all learned in 8th grade Civics class that government is accountable to the voters, but grownups know that isn’t the whole truth.  Government polices itself.  In Real Life, that means no accountability.  So when government decides to require accountability from someone, it’s a power play, pure and simple, and has nothing to do with stewardship of my money.  Don’t forget — congress just voted itself a hefty pay raise for this year.  Contrast that with pay caps for disfavored groups.

Now, granted, Obama is younger than I am, so we can cut him a little slack — he was probably consumed with puberty during Nixon’s administration.  Yet he was alive during the 70′s and early 80′s, being just 2 years younger than I am.  Was his head even further up his you-know-what than mine was up my own y-k-w?  I think it probably was. 

Reagan was castigated by the leftists for the so-called trickle-down economics he promoted.  Well, wage caps for the greedy executives are just the beginning of trickle-down poverty the leftists want to inflict upon all the rest of us.  It sounds good to slaves of emotion, but thinking people know it’s mushroom economics*.

But the Anchoress has it nailed.  The perfect stimulus solution.  I can’t find anything wrong with it.  Can you?

Leona Helmsley was crucified for saying it, but our new Democrat rulers are living its truth:  Only the little people pay taxes.  That’s because we li’l folk go to jail, instead of getting appointed to cabinet positions.  These poor men are all so “naive” and “innocent,” it makes me feel positively Machiavellian.  

Looking for a little help from our new god Obamessiah?  He’s comfy in his shirtsleeves, but will he share his gourmet steak dinner with folks in Kentucky?  Oh, if only they had voted for him!  But, no, they had to vote for the old guy and the tart.  Too bad, no FEMA for you.  And no screeches of outrage by the Oldstream Media at your plight.  Just try to find 23-hour coverage of your dead and hungry.  Unfortunately for you, you are just chopped liver.

But if you were a union fatcat or a lawyer of some kind, you’d be rollin’ in clover.  He’s doin’ all kinds of favors for them.

And for the littlest of the little, they’re literally chopped liver.  Payback will come.  Let’s hope those of us who are tryin’ to live right don’t get sucked down along with our dear rulers. 

Yipper, hope and change.  That is, I mean hope FOR A change.  Our Naked Emperor talks a good game, but his actions show he is not interested in the little peoples’ problems.
